Funeral services for Lenard Sanders, 81, Borger, were at 2 p.m. today at Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. James Berry, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

He died Friday, Jan. 5, 1996 in Golden Plains Community Hospital.

A native of Cliff, Okla., he had been a Borger resident since 1946. He was an operator for Huber Corp., retiring in 1977. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Mr. Sanders was a member of American Legion, and a World War II Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Colene Collier in 1991, four brothers and a sister.

He married Nellie Mae Skiver on Oct. 31, 1933 in Lark, Okla.

Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Wendyl Sanders of Borger; a daughter, Debi McClarnen of Borger; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Casketbearers were Carton Collier, Curtis Collier, Jim Topper, Jim Able, Jamey Maxwell, and Sean McClarnen.

Memorials may be made to Caring Hearts Care Home, 401 Monroe, Borger, Texas 79007.

The family will be staying at 1221 Minnesota.

BORGER - Nellie Mae Sanders, 91, died Saturday, July 19, 2008.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Southside Baptist Church with Dr. James Berry, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Garden Devotion in Highland Park Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Nellie was born Jan. 15, 1917, in Preston, to William and Fannie Skiber. She was a charter member of Southside Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Wendyl Sanders of Borger; a sister, Inez Petty of Borger; six grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
