SHAMROCK, Dec. 24 (Special) - Funeral services for James Lewis Smith, 59 years old, were conducted this afternoon in Wheeler Baptist Church with burial in Wheeler Cemetery under direction of Hunt Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith, who had lived in North Wheeler County 30 years, died Monday after a long illness.

Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Mabel Smith, Mobeetie; one daughter, Mrs. Mabel Alice Johnson, Amarillo; and four sons, David Vinson Smith, Mobeetie; James Lewis Smith, Jr., US Navy; R.J. Smith, Mobeetie; and Sherman Smith, Wheeler; three brothers and three sisters, Fred Smith, Yukon, Okla.; Allen I. Smith and Everet Smith, both of Shamrock; Mrs. Pernia Hill, Los Angeles, Cal.; Mrs. Shirla Williams, Oklahoma City; and Mrs. Rex McKay, Pampa; his father, Josiah Smith, Oklahoma City; and four grandchildren.

WHEELER - Funeral services for Mabel Lillian Smith McCaslin, 94, will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Wheeler Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Helsley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.

She died Monday, December 19 [sic].

She was born in Farmersville, Ill. and moved to Wheeler in 1916 from Oklahoma. She had moved to Borger in 1950. She returned to Wheeler two years ago. She married James L. Smith, Sr. in 1909 and he died in 1947. She married Ivan Amos McCaslin in 1956 at Borger. He died in 1968.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Borger, Stamp Club and First Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Vernon Smith of Mobeetie, James L. Smith, Jr. and R.J. Smith, both of Wheeler; nine grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
