Funeral services for Franz Loewen, age 72 of Denver City, Texas will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Sommerfeld Mennonite Church with Pastor Isaak Fehr officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole, Texas.

Franz Loewen was born January 21, 1950 in Mexico to Katharina (Klassen) and Franz Loewen, and was baptized May 30, 1971. He married Helena Friesen in Mexico on July 4, 1971 and celebrated fifty wonderful years of marriage as of July 4, 2021. He adored his grandchildren and loved his family dearly; he enjoyed giving his grandchildren tractor rides and always had gum in his pocket for them. He loved the holidays and having his entire family come visit. His passion was ranching, where he and his wife spent most of their time together working on the farm and raising cattle. He also spent many years working in construction. He was a member of Sommerfeld Mennonite Church and enjoyed spending time with his church family. Franz was loved by many and a friend to everyone.

Franz Loewen passed away at his home peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, May 29, 2022. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one son, one daughter, two brothers, and one sister.
