Funeral services for Johan Klassen, age 70 of Seminole, Texas, will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Sommerfeld Mennonite Church with Pastor Isaak Fehr officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Mr. Klassen was born February 23, 1953 in Mexico to Elizabeth (Heinrichs) and Cornelius Klassen. He married Elizabeth Guenter on July 6, 1980 in Mexico. Mr. Klassen was a member of Sommerfeld Mennonite Church. He enjoyed doing shooting sports and listening to Bible tapes; he dearly loved his grandchildren.

Johan Klassen passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elizabeth in 2020, five brothers, and three sisters. He is survived by three sons, Bernhard Klassen and wife Margarita of Copeland, Kansas, and Cornelius Klassen and wife Tina and Henry Klassen and wife Mary, both of Seminole, Texas; two daughters, Tina Fehr and husband Abram and Liliana Wiebe and husband Jacob, both of Seminole, Texas; five sisters, Margaret Wall and husband Cornelius of Canada, Susana Teichroeb and Helena Banman, both of Mexico, Anna Friesen and husband Peter and Elizabeth Froese and husband Peter, both of Paraguay; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
