Funeral services for Peter Knelsen, age 62 of Seminole, Texas, will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Old Colony Mennonite Church with Bishop Peter Janzen officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Peter Knelsen was born March 13, 1962 in Mexico to Maria (Epp) and Johan Knelsen. He married Helena Hiebert on July 6, 1986 in Mexico. He was a machine operator and a member of the Old Colony Mennonite Church.

He is survived by his wife, Helena Knelsen of Seminole, Texas; one son, Johan Knelsen and wife Agatha of Seminole, Texas; two daughters, Helena Wall and husband Johan, and Katharina Elias and husband Frank both of Paris, Texas; four brothers, Johan Knelsen and wife Elizabeth, Jacob Knelsen and wife Helena, Abram Knelsen wife Elizabeth, and Martin Knelsen and wife Helena all of Mexico; four sisters, Helena Fehr and husband Cornelius of Seminole, Texas, Maria Enns and husband Franz, Agatha Fehr and husband Abraham, and Susana Wiebe and husband Diedrich all of Mexico; and eight grandchildren.

Mr. Knelsen passed away on March 17, 2024 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son and one sister.
