Clifton 'Roy' Leroy Johnson
October 13, 1919 - January 19, 2018
Clifton ''Roy'' Leroy Johnson, 98, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Grace Church. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the funeral home.
Roy was born October 13, 1919 in Bryan County, Oklahoma to Lula McAlester Evans and Charles Harrison Johnson. He married Velma Dean Raney on September 25, 1940. Roy worked as a welder for JM Huber, Roadrunner Trucking and retired at the age of 62 from GP Guinn Trucking. Roy could fix anything. He was a wonderful cook and was known for his chicken and dumplings and homemade rolls. Roy had a wonderful sense of humor and if he liked you his was always picking on you, may even say he was going to whip you.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Velma Dean Johnson; son, James Clifton Johnson; grandson, Alva Leroy ''Lee'' Marchman; great granddaughter, Chelsea Brooke Brantwein; five brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors include his son, Charles ''Chuck'' Johnson and wife Kathy of Fritch; daughters, Pat Minton and husband Jim of Borger, Deana Mercer and husband Sammy of Panhandle; ten grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; thirteen great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Melissa and Cheryl of Kindred Hospice and Samantha of Kindred Home Health.

Velma Dean Johnson, 70, Borger, died at 8:58 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, 1993 in Golden Plains Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Raines, pastor officiating.
Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
A native of Bennington, Okla., she had been a Borger resident for 49 years. She was a homemaker and member of Central Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, James "Jim" Johnson in August 1992.
She married Roy Johnson Sept. 25, 1940 in Durant, Okla.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Chuck Johnson of Fritch; two daughters, Pat Marchman of Borger; and Deana Mercer of Panhandle; two brothers, Lois Raney of Panhandle; and Hulen Raney of Bennington, Okla.; two sisters, Thelma Dean Sherrer of Bennington, Okla.; and Marie Litterell of Borger; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Frances McWilliams, Pee Wee Howell, Tom Wicker, Bob Flood, Don Sanders, and James Mears.
