Obituary for Kenneth
BORGER - Kenneth Dale Johnson, 72, died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, in Amarillo.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Minton Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ron Ellington, pastor of Trinity Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.
Mr. Johnson was born Nov. 14, 1929, in Kiowa, Okla. He retired in 1987 as a technician for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine; a son, Kenny Johnson of San Rafael, Calif.; a daughter, Sharon Nichols of Bridgeport; four brothers, Lynn Dean Johnson of Grants Pass, Ore., Paul Johnson of Peachtree, Ga., Nelson Johnson of Tulsa, Okla., and Robert Johnson of Ridgecrest, Calif.; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105.

Obituary for Maxine
BRIDGEPORT — Maxine Johnson, 91, formerly of Borger, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2011, in Bridgeport.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Jones Family Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Westlawn Memorial Park, Borger.
Ms. Johnson was born May 14, 1920, in Forrest, Miss., to Alfred and Ida Banks Thames. The family moved to Borger when Maxine was a small child. She lived there until 2003 when she moved to Bridgeport.
She served as County Clerk for eight years in Hutchinson County. She was also a legal secretary for 25 years in Borger. She was a member of several organizations, including Desk and Derrick, Business and Professional Women, Order of Eastern Star, AARP and the Lake Meredith Yacht Club. She was also a member of the Nazarene Church in Borger.
Ms Johnson was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Harold Evans, who was killed in action in Okinawa, Japan, during World War II; her second husband, K.D. Johnson; an infant son, Jay Carlton Johnson; two brothers; and five sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Nichols, and husband Bill of Bridgeport; a son, Kenney Johnson and wife Katherine of San Rafael, Calif.; a sister, Marie Roper of Los Angeles; two grandsons, Jay Strawn and wife Kristin of San Antonio, and Blaine Strawn and wife Margret of New Orleans; three great-grandchildren, Ally, Kenny and Savannah; numerous nephews, nieces and a host of friends.
