Jewel V. Smith, 66, Borger, died Friday, Dec. 9, 1994 in Golden Plains Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor J.H. Blakemore, officiating, and the Rev. Melvin Brooks, assisting.

Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

A native of Mansfield, La., she had been a Borger resident for 46 years. She was a Mary Kay Consultant, and member of Bethel Baptist Church.

She was a speaker for PTL, superintendent for Sunday school, an adult Sunday school teacher, president of Missionary Outreach for Bethel Baptist, and was Woman of the Year at Bethel Bible Church in 1985.

She married James Smith on May 15, 1956 in Borger. He preceded her in death in 1981.

Survivors include five sons, Alton Anderson of San Bernadino, Calif.; Edward Anderson of El Paso; Jonathan Anderson of Houston; James T. Smith, Jr., of Borger; John T. Smith, II of Dallas; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
