William Troy "Bill" Smith, 84, of Borger, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1992, in St. Anthony's Hospice in Amarillo.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Friday at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church with Monsignor Norbert Kuehler and the Rev. B.A. Erpen officiating.

Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Home.

A retired stillman at the Phillips Refinery, Mr. Smith was a native of Wanette, Okla., and a Borger area resident for 57 years.

Mr. Smith and Stella Gipson were married May 26, 1937 in Amarillo.

He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.

He survived by his wife, Stella; two sons, Bill Smith of Borger and Bob Smith of Indian Springs, Nevada; two brothers, Jim Smith, of Seattle, Wash., and John Smith of Salinas, Calif., three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel Smith in 1989.

Casketbearers will be Daren Smith, Darrick Smith, Mike Smith, Emil Scherlen, Jim Wolfe and Ralph Batenhorst.
