STINNETT - William Truman Smith, 87, 500 Brown St., Stinnett, died Monday.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Assembly of God Church in Stinnett with the Rev. P.M. Middaugh of Fritch officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. Gregory Beggs, pastor of the church.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Stinnett under the direction of Alexander Funeral Directors of Stinnett.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Cook, Gerald Cook, Charlie Cook, Don Hazel, Skip Walker, Jack Horton, and Lin Lindsey. Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Cotner and the Gulf employees.

Mr. Smith was born in Myrtle Springs, Texas, Sept. 13, 1897. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and had lived in Stinnett since 1941, having moved here from Breckenridge, Texas.

He was a pumper of Gulf Oil Company for 42 years, retiring in 1960.

Survivors include one son, Floyd Smith of Columbia, S.C.; one daughter, Bess Pierce of Stinnett; nine grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
