Monday Rites For Mrs. Hazel Smith

Mrs. Hazel Smith, 616 Lee, died about 5:30 a.m. today in her home following a lingering illness. She was 42 years old.

The 25-year resident of Borger is survived by her husband, Mark Smith; one son, Phillip Smith, in submarine service with the Navy; two brothers, Earl Johnson of Oklahoma City and Foye Johnson, Birmingham, Alabama; and one sister, Mrs. Thelma Hembre of Dallas.

Funeral services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Christian Church with Rev. Dick Clayborne, former church pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the local cemetery.

Mrs. Smith was an active leader in youth work before her illness, was a member of the First Christian Church and worked at the local post office during World War II.
