Funeral services for W.L. "Bud" Smith, 58, 213 Goodnight, Fritch, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains, with Rev. Reyndal Russell, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, officiating.

Burial was in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Ed Brown and Sons Funeral Directors.

Smith died Monday following a two-vehicle collision northeast of Amarillo at the intersection of Hwy. 136 and Farm Road 1912.

He was a lab technician for 39 years for Phillips Petroleum Company. He retired in July 1986.

A native of Tell, Texas, Smith was a Fritch resident for 12 years.

Survivors include a son, Steve Smith, Fritch; a daughter, Debbie Brewer, Borger; two step-sons, Dale Gardiner, White Deer, and Wesley Gardiner Panhandle; one step-daughter, Sheryl Gardiner, Dallas; a brother, Bobby Smith of California; a sister, Mary Gay, Borger, and six grandchildren.
