William Troy "Bill" Smith, 84, of Borger, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1992, in St. Anthony's Hospice in Amarillo.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Friday at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church with Monsignor Norbert Kuehler and the Rev. B.A. Erpen officiating.

Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Home.

A retired stillman at the Phillips Refinery, Mr. Smith was a native of Wanette, Okla., and a Borger area resident for 57 years.

Mr. Smith and Stella Gipson were married May 26, 1937 in Amarillo.

He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.

He survived by his wife, Stella; two sons, Bill Smith of Borger and Bob Smith of Indian Springs, Nevada; two brothers, Jim Smith, of Seattle, Wash., and John Smith of Salinas, Calif., three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel Smith in 1989.

Casketbearers will be Daren Smith, Darrick Smith, Mike Smith, Emil Scherlen, Jim Wolfe and Ralph Batenhorst.

Stella Smith, 81, Borger, died Friday, April 14, in High Plains Baptist Hospital in Amarillo.

Prayer vigil will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains.

Funeral mass will be recited at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Catholic Church with Monsignor Norbert Kuehler officiating.

Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors.

A native of Goodloe, Ky., she had been a Borger resident for 60 years. She was a retired employee of Hub Clothiers. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Troy "Bill" Smith Oct. 28, 1992; and a grandson, Daniel Smith in 1989.

Survivors include two sons, Bill J. Smith of Borger; Bob Smith of Indian Springs, Nev.; three brothers, Herb Gibson of Keetering, Ohio; Jack Gibson and Jim Gibson, both of Prestonburg, Ky.; four sisters, Julie Ousley of Martin, Ky.; Thelma Gipson of Prestonburg, Ky.; Jolene Castle of Auxier, Ky,; and Bobbie Wright of Fayetteville, N.C.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
