Danny Wilce Smith, 73, of 1305 Hazelwood, died at 9 a.m. Sunday in Golden Plains Community Hospital.

A retired pipeyard man at Phillips, he was a native of Pulaski, Tennessee. He moved to Three Rivers in 1938 where he did some farming and ranching before moving to Borger in August, 1945. He went to work for Huber and then later at Phillips from which he retired.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church and Oddfellows Lodge 94. He married Miss Mary Alice Carr on December 23, 1935 in Alvarado.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of the home; two sons, Dwight of Garden City, Kan., Gerald of Quinlan; a daughter, Sharon O'Brien of Borger; two brothers, Early of Grandview, Buren of Baltimore, Md.; two sisters, Joyce Anders of Fort Worth, Bell Holbrook of Portland; four grandsons, Duane and Wayne, both of Quinlan, Greg of Garden City, Ks., Danny Ford of Borger; three granddaughters, Yvette Hunt of Dallas, Robin Ford of Garden City, Ks., Marca Ford David of Sundown; five great grandchildren.

Services are pending with Minton/Chatwell Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by a son Kenneth in 1949.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Foundation.

BORGER - Mary Alice Smith, 89, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors Minton Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith was a member of First Baptist Church, Rebekahs and Grandmothers Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sons.

Survivors include a son, Dwight Smith of Garden City, Kan.; a daughter, Sharon O'Brien of Borger; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
