Joe Earl Smith, 59, 203 Abilene, died at 10:50 p.m., October 12, at his home.
A mechanic at Phillips Pantex garage, he was native of Clarendon and a Borger resident for 35 years.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by three sons, Richard, Kurt and Kim Smith, all of Borger; two sisters, Barbara Nelson of Wichita, Kansas and Janie Tyra of Dumas; three brothers, Bob Harold Smith of Fritch, Mike Smith of Clarendon, and Jimmy Paul Smith of Amarillo; his mother, Frances Smith of Dumas; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Alexander-Morton Chapel of Memories, with Rev. Gordon Mitchell, associate pastor at First Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Alexander-Morton Funeral Directors.

Pallbearers were Ralph Earles, Jerry Hatton, Jack Hopkins, Frank Kempa, Paschal Pennington, and Rodney Vaughn.
He was survived by three sons, two sisters, three brothers, his mother, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
