*Obituary
Ruben W. "Smitty" Smith, 63, 1423 Hazelwood, died Thursday in Golden Plains Community Hospital.
A retired mechanic at the Cadillac-Olds dealership, he was a native of Bonham and a Borger resident since 1946.
He was a veteran of Army Infantry in WWII and a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Smith of the home; two daughters, Linda Graham of Amarillo, Sherry Phares of Borger; his stepmother, Pearl Arney of Bonham; one brother, Udell Smith of Quinlan; three sisters, Betty Hill of Borger, Minnie Phillips of Bonham, Faye Robinson of Lamasco; two grandsons, Rusty and Kelly Phares.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Minton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Amos Meador, retired pastor, First Church of the Nazarene, officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.
